Clay Soil Program Explained

Building a new home is exciting! But there’s also a lot of things you need to consider if you want your new home to match the neighborhood. One of those things is your home’s curb appeal. A stunning outdoor aesthetic starts with a healthy, green lawn. Blue Duck Lawn Care & Pest Control Services team offers new home builds a unique clay soil program to help jumpstart a lush landscape. So, here’s everything you need to know about our program, and why you need to give us a call!

We Start with Fertilization

When a new home is built here in Central Indiana, the topsoil is often stripped of all the nutrients. Unfortunately, this results in a top layer of clay that isn't primed for a lush lawn. Without these critical nutrients added back into the soil, you'll struggle to grow and maintain a green lawn.

We Use Our Own Blend

Our clay soil program includes a customized proprietary blend of chemicals, nutrients, and locally produced organic BioChar. This BioChar is our program's main component and helps break up the clay, allowing for grassroots to take hold and absorb the nutrients.

It's a Multi-Step, Multi-Year Process

Our program for newly built homes and lawns starts with a two-step yearly application done once in the spring and once in the fall. This timing is perfect for when the grass absorbs and stores nutrients between winter dormancy. Additionally, we typically combine this program with seeding and extend it for multiple years. With a multi-year approach, we can restore nutrients and achieve the desired results.
